Squicking noise coming from Transfer case
2003 6cyl,
110 k miles It sounds exactly like the brake pads are touching metal, but the sound is coming from the transfer case Makes a light to moderate squeaking/metallic sound at low speeds. Sometimes at very low speeds and where the are walls to reflect the sound I can hear , not sure, but like gears, but not grinding ? It only happens during acceleration it sounds like loud squekky brakes, no slipping sound, no gear grinding sound no chain slipping sound, can this just be a stretched chain or what ?
