Thanks! definitely looks better at night - more fully integrated looking for sure. Thinking I will get a little creative to better conceal the power wire...

I am in love with the Torque Pro app - has some really cool stuff that I could never get on my ScanGuage II (unfortunately it doesn't work at the same time as the bluetooth OBDII adapter even with the splitter I have). For instance you can get digital coolant temp, MAF CFM, intake temp, and much much more.

The nav experience is so much better - live traffic monitoring / alternate routing, etc...

You can also use the auto-dim feature so the screen is not crazy bright at night. NAV also has an option to dim after a while, and while brighten when a turn is coming up.

Decided I am going to flip the phone horizontally for two reasons:

1) I won't have to run power wire as far across the passenger side so it will be less visible. I am using the glove box lighter adapter which switches off with the ignition. This is acutally not desirable since it will just kill the phone right away. I would rather shut it down gracefully after I turn off the ignition, This is perfect for my V1 though. I will likely use the lighter socket behind the console since these get power even with the ignition off. I'm going to try to find an app that can tell there has been no motion in a while so the phone will shutoff after a cetain period of time.

2) The mic for the phone is farther away (and not facing) the driver seat.

that is all

Text and drive? You can still do that (though it is unsafe).

I would drive, get a text... and at my convince use siri voice to text to send...
if iphone is stuck to nav screen than it would be harder to do so.

I have been using voice typing for getting nav directions or sending texts. Works pretty well on Android... Dunno about siri but I would imagine its pretty sweet.
