The Peake tool will not clear the air bag code, it certainly seems like it should but nada. I ordered the $22.00 tool listed as an air bag reset tool. Hooked it up, followed instructions to clear the code and that is exactly what it did. I don't know exactly how long it took to receive the tool but it wasn't that long.

Thirty miles is nothing in Dallas. It must be less than nothing in SoCal?

Depending on what your indy will charge, unless you want to have a airbag reset tool and you can wait to reset the airbag, it sounds like it is time for a trip to your indy. If it resets and comes back on at least you would be where other troubleshooting could be easily done.
You obviously know what you are doing so it could be something else causing the problem that neither tool pulls up a code.

Is there a different tool for the airbag light on a 2004+? These all show 2003 and under. Will a standard OBD2 scan tool work?

Thanks

Not all code scanners will clear the air bag fault. If what you have or purchase does not you can purchase an inexpensive too that will do so.

I can't find one that says it will... Can someone point me to one?

I did.

I'm saying I didn't see anything that was specifically listed for 2004+ (unlike the 2003 and earlier versions which are clearly displayed) so I'm not sure if any/all of them will work. That is why I'm asking if someone with an '04+ has one that they have had success with to keep me from wasting time and money on something that won't work.

I understand what you are saying. I am suggesting you call them and ask if it is the same blue. If they say yes you can either believe them or find out if their paint code is the same as the paint code on your X. It is certainly your call. Thus far, you have been asking without results. That was the reason for my contribution. Seems like that would save you time and money if it is not what you need.

I found this and its awesome.

http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ilpage_o06_s00

Now I need to figure out how to fix the source of the error.

The code is "04 Airbag, passenger, stage 1". It comes back immediately after I reset the light. Does this mean the airbag itself is faulty?
