Head lights doesn't turn on in Auto-mode in dark

Hi folks,

I have this weird thing with my X5 2005 model.
The Head lights doesn't turn on in Auto-mode in dark, So i have to do a manual switch when i need it and turn it off.

One thing i noticed is, if i keep in auto and drive in dark.. the head lights at times turn on after 10-15 mins.

How do i fix this.. Any sensors that are bad ??
where is the auto dark detection sensors.. so i can check and fix them ?

Please help.
Thanks
Steve
