Loss of Power after service. Help!
Hi,
I have just come back after spending 9 hours at the mechanics! I had my car booked in for a full service and to have the A/C gas re-filled. When i got the car back it was a completely different car, it has 10% of the power it used to. I tried overtaking e.g. and not enough power. It also takes far longer to change gears. So took the car back, they thought it was the air filter, they refitted it and told me it would be ok, tested again and it was the same. Many hours later and they thought the new fuel filter they installed was faulty so they tried fitting my old filter back. It is a bit better than they left it before but still very slow and power loss can be felt substantially. They say that it is definitely the fuel filter and are ordering a new one to install next week. My question is if it is indeed the fuel filter then why has power not been restored to normal when they re-fitted my old one. I asked them and they said its because they need to bleed it properly to ensure there is no air left inside. What do you guys think? How can a routine service basically ruin my car? Please help. Thanks. |
