giodog2000 couldn't have said it better myself.

This is an excellent forum with very helpful users, thank you all

Taking my car back to the garage now as they actually ripped one of the hoses and that broke part of the vaccuum tank so the hose cannot be re-connected. Will need a new part.

Hope they are able to fix this now.

They broke the connector end on the right side of the vac reservoir.Make them get you a new part.Temporarily,you can just disconnect the vac pipe on the left and join it the the broken right vac pipe,as the broken plastic will fit inside the other pipe!Alternatively,just get a hard plastic pipe that will fit in between both vac pipes and you will have 100% power again..The reservoir tank ,not really needed...
