DIY to access throttle body for cleaning ?

I'm sure that this is somewhere, but I can't find a thread that shows how to get at the throttle body in a 2004 3.0i. I've got a code:

76 Throttle position sensor 1, plausibility range or performance

and another member recommended cleaning the throttle body as a possible solution. I don't want to start randomly removing parts without a good pictorial DIY.

I can remove some of the corrugated boot but the final clamp down at the throttle body itself is inaccessible without removing other parts, I think.

Dave- it IS a pain in the ass. You will need to remove a Torx bolt holding on the hose behind the TB and carefully move that toward the rear of the car to achieve more clearance. By this point you should have the intake tube and air box out, so the only thing left to do is bend over and start working at it with a flat-head or 6mm drive. A flex joint will help your angle somewhat if you go the 6mm route but overall it is just a pain in the ass.

Getting it back on is a little better but not much.

Well, I'll have a go at it ... I have two other maintenance things to do first -- replace the pre-cat O2 sensors and the thermostat, perhaps the water pump as a precautionary measure while I'm in there.

Do yourself a solid and buy new clamps for everything. Those 6mm/flat heads can suck my dick. Sorry to be crass.

True statement. Or at least re-lubricate the clamps going in. There is less wear on these clamps due to pressure than corrosion.
