I don't think I would ever work there. But sometimes when i'm doing a DIY project, I think it would be fun to be a BMW shop mechanic for a month or so.

Co's parts is very good (well, Jason is). Just hate the service and parts manager.... he's a dick!

Travis is also a great service adviser. Just would never go back to Co's again after my last service.

Now that you mention it, the guy that helped me was Jason! Really nice guy and very helpful, IMO. I think he was the only parts rep there during my visit.

Kudos Jason!

Some you win, MOST you loose...I have never had a problem with the parts departments in any of the dealerships I have used...UNFORTUNATELY its the SALES AND SERVICE that gives dealerships a bad name....
Yes, they have big overhead and big carrying costs BUT I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING LIED TO OR HAVING THEM THINK I AM STUPID
SORRY, I just had a VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE AT VISTA MOTORS IN FL

Imagine if you were a BMW CCA member! You could have gotten 15% discount on top of that!

Are they an official BMW of North America Dealership? You should file a complaint!

Have before, but only select BMW dealerships participate in this discount.

Lame dealers abound. Got an OE alternator from Honda last year for my GF Accord, worked fine cold, when underhood temp rose to normal summer operating temps output dropped to zero and the car died. Called the dealer service dept and was told I might have a bad voltage regulator that needs to be changed out, informed them the regulator is built into the alternator, they should have known this.

Removed the unit brought it back, bench test showed it worked OK, I told them at normal operating temp it fails, went back and forth with the parts manager for over 30 mins B4 he broke down and swapped it out for another one that worked fine.

That's because you live in Australia - we also pay $6 for a coffee and over $10 for a Mcdonalds meal. We also get raped on fuel, taxes, surcharges, sales tax, electronics, tools, groceries, insurance.......

As for european parts more precisely, the reason the prices are so dear is because they are all supplied by one guy, SMG Parts thats Stillwell Motor Group aka Bob Stillwell and he has the monopoly. The dealers all use him and can't be bothered using someone else, so he will continue to have the monopoly until people start buying their parts outside the dealers, the typical european vehicle owner in Australia either has too much money or not enough time so they just take it to the dealer and say "Fix it" and pay whatever they have to pay.

So basically what I'm saying is just buy in bulk from overseas - pay the $100 or so in shipping and you're still winning
