Exterior door trim (lower window)

Mine is really in bad shape (pics to follow). It is the black(dark dark blue?) trim - not the chrome. I plan to remove and respray it.

Bentley says the way to remove it is to pry it up with a plastic tool. Apparently there are no screws holding it in place.

Does anyone one any experience (and advice) for removing and replacing the trim?

This picture shows the average damage... The driver door is far worse.

I am thinking that before opening the vehicle to remove it, I might first pait them.

The best price I have found so far is about $300.00 for a set of lower sills.
