Sport steering wheel centre retrimmed in Alcantara

HI Just thought I would share my latest project, I had the usual scratched plastic part on the sport wheel on my 05 .
So after after reading the 'How to' section regarding the air bag removal etc thought I'd give it a go.
How simple is this as a project, loosen all 5 small torx10 srews at the back of the wheel first, then pull fuse 44 out, pop out airbag , it will sit happily ontop of wheel no need to disconnect anything electrical
remove plastic part , turn it over, remove 2 screws on each switch pack to remove.
I then trimmed the part with Alcantara , was thinking of some matt black leather but thought this looked better.
Put everything back together no problems what-so-ever.Pop airbag back in, replace fuse 44, then turn on ignition spin wheel to make tightening up the 5 screws easier for yourself.
I'm very pleased with results.

thankyou for the guidance X555

Very nice work. Especially how well the compound corners are wrapped and the inserts and seams fit.

Hi, thanks for the comments, I am we'll pleased with the results.I used Alpha 1358 contact adhesive and full black Alcantara.
I just spread a thin coat of adhesive on both parts ,left to dry/go tacky for about 10-15 mins then just carefully smoothed out the fabric over the part. The most scary part was trimming around the switch packs,I used a brand new scalpel blade and carefully cut around the wholes from the back .
