Need input about best Diagnostic software purchase to Make

My take from several posts is that the GT1 is the way to go to have capability to diagnose any issue the computer knows about and to monitor the engine in real time? And that it works with Window XP? If that is the way I should go, can anyone list a link to the correct software to purchase. I have Googled GT1 and checked on Ebay and there seems to be a wide range of prices and items included that does nothing more than confuse my pea brain. I dug out a HP laptop that I used before going all Apple to use exclusively for this purpose (if I don't get a rash) that has Windows XP.

i use INPA for diagnostics (within my limited abilities and skills) and the NCS Expert to program the little tweaks to suit my needs... INPA has some live screens, helpful if you know what the heck they mean... lol...

Currently I have a Peake scanner which doesn't do enough. Primary interest is to read performance of each cylinder at idle and reving while stationary so that I am able to narrow down any engine issues. It should be able to read air/fuel mixture by cylinder and hopefully spark. Second-I would like to read engine info under hard acceleration. It would be best if it had capability to record a session so I could scan the data later. Third-would be to read pertinent transmission info. Currently I have very little interest in re-programming anything but maybe I would in the future when I better understood the possibilities.

All you need is the INPA/EDIABAS cable. Software can be download from here Diagnostic Software

I have INPA/EDIABAS, GT1 DISv44 and SSSProgman V32 Running.

Went to the link--didn't find software to download only questions about use of software or installation.

Why don't I need the say software you have?

Is there a single source to purchase what I need that provides an auto setup?

Thanks tmv, since I just joined the forum, it doesn't allow me to send a private message. I had to post the request that will be seen by 32 pages of members, this will be interesting. At least they can't tell me to RTFM but there is a 'small' chance I will shot at and hit and s**t at and also hit.

If I am successful obtaining a list of software, what it does and a reliable source to download or purchase and hopefully a list of how to load and get going do think it would justify a new, dedicated thread or is that info here and I didn't use the right search words?

Let me see if I can find the CDs of those software. I can just burn you a copy then.
Took me a few tries to have them working.
