A more common cause of P0171 and P0174 code is the rubber intake boot since that often tears at the ribs where the ICV is attach to it.

One item that the OP mention was that there was a pop like a backfire when he was revving the truck. From my days of owning a PORSCHE 911SC a backfire could mean that the airbox could have gotten cracked which resulted in a HUGE Vacuum leak (That is why I still have a brand new factory OEM airbox for a 911 from 1974 to 1983). The intake manifold on the 3.0 engine is also made from a material similar to PLASTIC.
the "POP" seems to come from the rubber boot itself, almost as if it tries to take a deep breath and collapses the tube.
