Exclamation I think my front Air suspension just blew!!

So I'm up in northern AB seeing some customers and as I'm driving to lunch I hear what sounds like a massive release of air and now my front suspension is basically lowered right down, can't lift it at all. No warnings no nothing came up on the dash and still don't even now that I have parked and restarted.

Can I assume my front airbags have blown out? Any advice hear would be extremely helpful as of course I am 500kms from home and of course I AM PANICING!!!

Did some searches, it looks like one of the front bags must be gone. Hoping I can get something quickly. I can't imagine the cost of a 400km plus tow

check fuses first... check relays - the valves may have released for whatever reason...

If you have the X running you may hear the release of air for a bag or even see the problem by visual inspection.

If you plan to DIY, depending on the quality of the roads you will be traveling, you could drive home doing your best to avoid major bumps and reducing your speed so you have more control. Obviously, there will be more stress on the suspension but shouldn't damage anything more unless it is already about to go. If you plan to get it repaired there it is likely the parts will not be available any time soon. If it is only one bag, it is a good idea to replace both anyway.

Airbags are common item on the air suspension, Mine were in need of replacement 1.5 years ago and I have an 03. Your 06 is driven in Canada a lot, I'm sure the rubber deteriorates faster with salt exposure.

Does your compressor pump the bags up at all while driving? When mine were blown it would be down to the fender touching the tire in the morning, once I started driving it pumped up, just took a while. Either way, if your airbags are gone, replace both, the other ones not far behind.

They inflate a very little bit while driving. There is no way I will make it home like this....maybe I could but it would take 12+ hours. Mechanic is telling me it isn't safe to drive. He is putting a scan tool to it as we speak.

I have to admit though.....I love the way it looks slammed like this.

Got the car into the only place in town that can help me. He said it may not be the bag that has blown....I guess we will have to see.

All I really want is a temp fix that will get me home, so if the bags are needing replacement I would give it a go myself.

a leak test should tell you if the bag is blown. if it is replace both, and replace them fast and DO NOT drive the car much with bags leaking.

you will wear out the compressor seals fast if you do and then you will be also replacing your compressor as it will be "burnt out" and not able to increase pressure in the air tank, thus throwing a SELF LEVEL SUSP INACT code and no ride height control until you replace and clear the error(ask me how I know)

Well looks like both bags are blown, Im going to get it towed home. I'm likely going to be able to get the dealer I purchased it from to cover the install and I will get the parts from Arnott industries. I've heard they distribute a decent product?

Hopefully that should lower my costs plus have a professional install it.
