As T & RB already stated, I went with a hybrid set up --- OEM bags and struts, but aftermarket control systems. I needed the ability of the on-the-fly adjustment for the stupid winters we get. I basically pieced together my own kit....and it involves some fabrication work to mount the 4 aftermarket ride height sensors & arms, in addition to all the wiring and line running. The system I have is from Dakota Digital, and it allows me the to have 3 preset ride heights (to any height I specify), but can also control it manually. It pretty much mimics the functionality of the 4.8is system, but also has different key-on modes you can set....I think dakota digital has some pretty detailed pdf docs on it you can read right from their site if you're interested.

IMO, people have a natural prejudice against air suspension simply because it's "one more thing to go wrong", and unfairly expect it to preform flawlessly as if it were a coil set-up....despite being miles more complex.

X5SND Thanks for the info, I'm reading into that kit right now. Another thing, what did you use to cover up the holes for the roof rail delete, I still have those mounting brackets things waiting to be removed.

Could you paste the review in the thread, I'm looking at the BCR's also?

Not sure how low they can go as I was not really interested in ruining the ride and bottoming out the suspension by slamming the car anyway..

There is enough adjustment on the shock to lower probably about 75mm but I just lowered around 30mm to improve the stance and looks.

With the adjustable damping range and the choices of springs, they are very flexible and with the standard springs that come with the kit, and damping set around half way, the ride is around the same as a stock 4.8is when new, without the dire reliability of the air suspension.

The lowering has improved the handling a fair amount in combination with the Phoenix sway bars and urethane bushes.
They have been on now for about 5 months.

that is from X5girl, her X looks magnificent btw.

What is this spring option they list for $325 extra...needed? I like the stance of the blue one in the picture above, but not trying to spend $2500 on the KW. What does it take to get exactly mine to sit like above?

I'm wondering what that $325 spring option is also.
