2005 X5 3.0i AC Help....I Lost My Cool

Great site.....I have a 2005 X5 3.0i with an AC that is not working. When auto climate AC is turned on, air pushes out with good flow but stays hot. I checked the 2 fuses and they are good. My wife had a shop check freon and its supposed to be good. When turned on I can hear AC systems turning on and the 2 fans in front and behind radiator do turn on.
Toward the end of winter the heater would take a long time to get warm.

Check out your heater control valve. Mine took a dump and would push out nothing but hot air. They are notorious for going out and when they do, they are stuck in the open position.

Thanks for the input...I will take a look at the heater control valve. Any thoughts on the thermostat? During the winter it is very slow to warm up. Could thermostat effect the HVAC system?

I pulled the heater control valve yesterday opened it up and it seems to be in good shape. It did not look to be shorted out, was clean and valves function well. The rubber gasket under the valves are in good shape so I gave it a cleaning and reconnected the part.
Still no AC....heat really doesn't work we either. The amount of air being pushed is good....its just not getting cold.

Only way to find out the problem will be to get a set of AC manifold gauges and connect them to the system. You need to determine the low side and high side pressures. If you don't have the equipment or don't have the knowledge in servicing AC system then you are better off looking for a shop to fix the system.
