2000 X5 radio replacement

UPDATE.... Weekend came and I attempted to install my plug and play XTRONS 7'' car stero and nav system.. No problem right ? plug and play as the instructions say.... NOT. After removing my factory radio /gps i discovered that i had different plugs that what came in my kit. Hmmm well looking it over i decided too many wires. I took it to local stereo shop Monday am. He looked it all over studied the wiring / features etc. The gave me the news, or bad news I should say, $700 smackers to rewire the new stereo /car /amp etc. and to make it worse there is no kit to keep the steering wheel controls functional. I was bummed out. $500 for a radio nav and now another $700 to make it all work.. Still I wanted bluetooth and DVD , ipod functions and back up camera etc. I gave him the green light. System is in , all features working as advertised, thank goodness and sound is very good. Just wished the steering wheel controls could have been maid operational. The Installer said he looked on line and there are no adapter / kits for the 2000 they start offering the kit in 2002. Never less install is done very clean perfect fit.
