x2 that is a lot of pressure resting on those 19mm of threads on one lug! (1500 lbs worth or more!)

I would give him another chance, who knows what went on maybe he got distracted focusing too much on something else on the car, happeneds to the best of us.

But yeah i would check the wheels and bearing and else to make sure the extra stress didnt affect anything else

Ill planning on jacking it up tomorrow and taking the wheel off to check it. What's the best way to check the wheel bearing? Rotating the wheel and listening for any rough sound out of the hub? Trying to wiggle it up-down, left-right? Is a realignment necessary?

If the wheel bearing went bad you would know it. When mine was bad as soon as I got up to 40 mph my whole car starting making a WW2 bomber humming noise that is loud as hell.

Get all four up on stands/lift. Take the wheel off. Put it in drive. Listen. With wheel on, look for up/down play. I've been told our wheel bearings are fairly stout, but it couldn't hurt to check...

For me having the car up in the air in drive never really worked, i felt, even with it off, the DSC kept trying to make adjustments and stuff

I would give him another try. His reaction to your situation would make me consider it. Sadly mistakes happen.

I once spent a whole day working on a friend's car and mine - we replaced front suspension on a 7 series and an M5. Probably took us a better part of 10 hours. When we were done, we then headed from San Francisco to LA - about a 6 hour drive.

We drove side by side as the roads were empty at about 80 MPH. He pulled over one time to check his lug nuts just to be sure we torqued them down right.

Next morning in slow LA traffic, I felt a slight wobble from the right rear. I pulled over to check and three bolts were literally sitting in the wheel holes, one was loose and the last one hand tight. Check both rears and YUP! I was the one who forgot to torque down my bolts! I could have killed both of us had a wheel come off during our drive down.

Sometimes, crap happens.
