They are called lots of things, it was just the term I learned when somebody probably told me to go get off my a@s and go get then one. I sent the picture because of the 1 pic = 1000 words thing. There are lots of terms, words and phrases used here that I bet a lot of us have never heard or don't bother reading because they are way too complicated.

So I cleared the codes, and finally got to the vehicle today to test it out after driving it on Friday (although, a shitty drive to and from work, ~3miles each way)

I checked the injectors for a leak. I need to conduct a pressure check next, as the results on the video indicate no Injector seems to be having a vacuum leak. I even removed the oil filler cap to see if that would cause a vacuum leak and it did. There are codes at the end of the video indicating what is going on right now.

Any idea friends?

Bmw continues with problems - YouTube

i would not worry about the crankshaft sensor as of yet, it could be due to other issues, such as knocking, and the engine's inability to retard the ignition timing past the needed value... i would think about compression test, but still, not yet - you had exhaust too hot... i wonder if the fuel is not burning completely and burns off once it leaves the cylinder through exhaust port... did you hear any backfires? it seems that you have the comp with the software - can you throw INPA in various test modes, where we can see cylinder roughness, and the other values? I don't remember off the top of my head, i think you did the spark plugs - did you also do the coils?

I didn't see a P0171 or P0174 code on your computer. Are you still getting these codes? The engine seems to be able to rev to redline, but dies when you let go of the pedal. So what is the problem(s)?

@TerninatorX5 I think he's using BMW Scanner 1.4, not INPA.

you are right - i was watching the thing on tiny screen, so could not make out much of the picture anyways... i think i have the scanner 1.4 but i have not used it - so, i don't have first hand knowledge...

Adrian, do you have INPA in your sw package? can you fire it up and see what you get there?

my stereo blew a few days ago, so I don't have Torque at the moment, so I can't see if the P0171 or P0174 codes are still active.

I ended up purchasing this:

BMW Scanner 1 4 x5 x3 Z3 E38 E39 E53 E83 E85 E36 E46 | eBay

Yesterday because the cable and software I had wasn't getting the job done. It only read some information, not all.

As I stated before, the revving of the engine is occasional, if I press on the gas pedal hard, it feels like it is struggling, and drops RPMs. If I press on it slightly it will rev up steadily before hitting around 3500 to 4500 and then it will drop again.

Those are the problems.

I don't have INPA, and even if I did, the cable I have wouldn't work (as what I was told last time) I purchased this BMW Scanner tool with software (http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Scanner-1-4-X5-X3-Z3-E38-E39-E53-E83-E85-E36-E46-/251313815895?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item3a83788157&vxp=mtr#ht_2358wt_906) BMW Scanner 1.4.0 so that I can fully read the codes. I think this is what I need to use INPA with, but I don't even know where to find a copy to download (much less a windows XP computer to run it on)

if you already have a working cable, you may consider just a download - i do not know this guy, but it seems that what he has is what you need -
