Why don't you get these (same seller), 25 bucks less, and they look more OEM? tmv had a pair on his old 3.0, they literally look like facelifted lights!

MUCH agreed! Especially after seeing those. I wonder how these Genntec's hold up over time? I guess there's one way to find out. So far these take the cake.

FYI: The ones in RB's link and on my old 3.0 is Spyder, NOT the same as the one in your link (Genntec as you mention) I have had them on it for about 2 yrs when the X was sold last month. No issue.
The picture in the eBay ad shows Depo AE. They must be real bad so the seller has to replace their picture with something else, LOL.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Genntec was the name of the seller on ebay, they are still Spyder/Sonar headlights (the part numbers are the same, I cross referenced)

If you want the headlights tmv had, there are about 3-4 sellers on ebay that stock them, all from Rowland Heights California.

p.s.team
genntec
arksen_motor

All the same type of headlights and no differences between them.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but none of the seller's mentioned offer a solution for our X5's with HID?

It appears they come with H7's in both the High's and Low's.

Well Sammy, that's where one has to "man up" and open the stock headlights and these aftermarkets, and swap the projectors, leveling motors, and ballasts, so they can utilize factory HID, with a better look than the Depo's, and at less than half the cost.

All you need is an oven, patience, and a flat head screwdriver to get them open. In the case of 2003 permasealed stock lights though, you would have to cut those open if you were swapping the internals.

This was documented well in a thread in 2009, search google for "ebay headlights xoutpost" and you'll find the thread, nearly all OEM internal components swap over to the aftermarket headlights.

Alright - so - to measure twice and cut once - these are the ones I want:
2001 2003 BMW E53 x5 Halo Black Projector Headlights Lamp Head Lights Pair Set | eBay

About to pull the trigger.

It's been an X5 day so far. New washer pump, new BMW black rubber floor mats and these today most likely. Window tint and paint next.

Any suggestions on ones that have self leveling? Mines an 05 and they will need new lenses soon. Haven't seen anything other than the dealer and those cost a bunch.
