Thanks to everyone for their input.

After some inspection it appears that the air bag may be the problem.

It filled up this morning but deflated in less than a quarter of a mile.
Replacing the air bag does not look like too difficult job according to the Bentley Manual.

Add that to the list of repairs. 204,000 miles. I'm not too upset.

Thanks again.

UPDATE:
After I put everything back together, ordered left and right air springs and posted the message above I drive down and filled up the fuel tank. The air spring fills up when I started the car and it was fine while I filled up the tank. It was fine for the next 10 miles as I head into town. One mile from my destination the error mesage comes on and the air spring slowly deflates.

check all the air hose connections, and the hoses. You know you got to squeeze the connection at the air bag in order to open the clamp.

In my case, I just had to do a height re-calibration as I had a ton of work done lately on my suspension. My left rear was about an inch lower than the other corners, did a recalibration with DIS and all is holding well for now.

I added that to the signature shortly after the original post. It is a jpg. Doesn't change automatically. That would be neat though.

I replaced the left Air Spring this morning - Very easy in my opinion.

The compressor is not running and inflating the bag. Is there a reset function I need to perform?

Some have had problems with that, I would lower the vehicle most of the way but still leave supported with the jack, start the car and remove/reinstall fuse 87 in the trunk, see if that jump starts the compressor.

Update: I drove to the office and did some work. Well I wouldnt call it work.

Left to go see the local mechanic and when I started the vehicle the compressor engaged and inflated the air spring. After ten minutes of driving the error light went off. Back to normal opperations.
