If so, does that mean you have owned it since it was new, you know the owner(s) or what?
This car was bought in 2006 . I have known the owner and the car from first day.

I bought this car in 2009 and sadly in 2010 the previous owner passed away

leaving me whit the mystery of the switch ... WHAT DOES IT DOOO :P

pull the cover dude... there is a screw by the gas pedal, and push pins that hold it together... pull it off, and look...

Put the seat as far to the rear as it will go. Remove the one screw. Pull on the center until the tabs release and bend it out to get it out from behind the rear trim- That simple.

DEFINITELY aftermarket. Having been responsible for all the switches on the E53 during series production, I know with absolute certainty that we never installed such a switch in Plant Spartanburg.

Hope you figure this out!
