mine as well, I need new valve stem steals and timing chain case? Forgot if thats what it was called off the top of my head. I know there is a BMW mechanic that pops around the forum here and there. I've heard he does great work and for MUCH cheaper than the stealer. I'll give him a go once I get a little extra money saved up.

EDIT: Didnt take into account your location lol.

The $50 was a joke for those who didn't catch it . Just a frustrated post

So in all seriousness it was leaking oil onto the ground from the engine bay and blowing smoke after short idle times so I replaced the cam cover and seal for cylinders 1-4. I had a suspicion that it was damaged/warped. That has turned the blue smoke at short idle into a blue smoke at extended idle and the oil leak seems to be less.

I'm getting a very small patch on the ground (6 drops worth) under the left side of the engine (when looking at it from the front) over night. It's hard to pin point it because it is a very small leak and secondly because we have the belly pan which means really the leak could be coming from anywhere and just exiting through the hole in the pan where the oil filter is. I thought about taking the belly pan off and running the engine without driving it but for those of you who have taken the belly pan off you'll know how much of a pain in the arse it is getting it back on.

PS: I just sold my first born son so I now have a much larger budget.

Kyle, I think you mean timing chain guides, these are plastic and last about 150k miles.
