Blue smoke diagnosed...sat for 2 weeks, started her up....
1. blue smoke when starting up...indicative of oil seeping past the valve stem seals and into the combustion chamber. 2. blue smoke on high vacuum, also high rpm deceleration on long hills or stabbing the gas after a long high rpm deceleration. My car has sat for 2 weeks in the garage while i managed other priorities. Started her up this am and 0 smoke out the back. Mechanics called me a few hours later as my ABS module has been diagnosed as "bad", and they also said i needed valve stem seals as they saw smoke. I explained that it ONLY does it when pulling away from idling...and they agreed it was common to other 5 and 7 series cars + X5's, but still insisted it was valve stem seals. So...have others re-routed the breathers? what else could be causing this as I ONLY started seeing it the last few weeks. I now have 5w-40 oil and fresh CVV's. Mark

Hmmm my bet is still Valve seals, after mine sat for 3 moths Plenty of smoke came out when mashed on gas, but not on startup. It smoked the entire day sitting at a light for 3 seconds.
Im gonna try like you said the long decceleration in gear now
