paint or vinly wrap for peeling steering wheel trim

I had a peeling steering wheel on one of my BMW's which I have now sold, I purchased an alcantara leather steering wheel cover which came with the thread and needle to stich it into place. It looked very professional when done. almost as good as a brand new leather steering wheel.

thanks fella,its actually the trim 'paint' that is wearing off (stole pic from another post apologies) pretty damn annoying considering this is unique to this car that also happens to be the most expensive car out of the 5 i have owned, an audi80 , saab 95, pugeot, honda civic, and mercedes 190..anyway thanks
