I do not know the answer to your question but a VOM might go a long way in finding the 12V and GND wires in the connector. Honestly, you might consider starting a new thread describing your issue instead of bumping a 7 year old thread.

newtis.info has all the wiring schematics for your X so have a look over there as well.

Thanks, I understand now.

I did check with a volt meter and found the right pins.

Now to splice the wires to get access to the right pins.

Its great that you are looking at this thread.

Usually, the big red cable is +ve.
