o2 sensor DIY here. i was off a little. upstream are easy. did them myself in 20 minutes last week. downstream look a little more involved, but still doable.

Wouldn't there be a camshaft sensor related code? None of the searched threads ask the question, why bank 2 only?

I paid under $100 for the work and after driving it I now only am getting code P1093 - Manifold Control Fuel + Air Metering, Auxiliary Emission Control. I will be doing some searching on the forum for some info for this code but I would appreciate any help. I figure it could be an O2 sensor, but I am assuming. Thanks for everyones advice...I hope this helps others in the future...dont waste your money when someone says replace everything without knowing for sure the real problem.

The initial mechanic was so wrong, not only did he try to rip me off, he didnt even mark the vehicle as Manual transmission, which it is.
Have you cleared the codes and the P1093 came back?

Any troubleshooting or potential fixes are shots in the dark without your symptoms.

Sometime you have to search outside Xoutpost.

Ses p1093

Since the owner brought it to a dealer we can only hope that what they told the owner was the truth about the cause of his problem.

Ok, good find, I'll bring this info to my BMW Tech friend when he brings the X5 to the dealer. If mine also shows a bad camshaft sensor, I'll surely post on every thread I can find that P1093 has been fixed on two accounts by replacing the camshaft sensor.

P1093 seems to have been the a tear in the larger cap at the back of the intake manifold for me.

Where did your mechanic cap the manifold leak? was it part 17 on this diagram?

RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 3.0i Intake manifold system

Update on my situation. I have replaced the upstream o2 sensors and cleared the codes, only to have the p1093 (Manifold Control Fuel + Air Metering, Auxiliary Emissions Control) come back time and time again. I am unsure why my p1093 is different than others (Fuel Trim too Lean) but I am wondering if anyone has a solution to this. I have been using a KNM air filter and its on its third use, so this may be the culprit OR I need to clean.replace the MAF. ANy thoughts?
