ABS Module ?

Hi Guys. 2004 X5 E53 3.0l. I have ABS and brake warning lights on permanently. I tried testing the ABS system according to the list here: Bimmerfest - BMW Forums - View Single Post - 2002 E39 ASC BRAKE ABS lights on => Diagnostic Procedure & Parts Location but my ABS connector pins are not the same. (Trying to upload pic but without success!) After testing the front speed sensors and refitting the ABS connector, cruise control has also given up. Testing the brakes reveal no ABS and some annoyed neighbours.

May be related or not, but I also have no rear windscreen wiper/washer, and no front washer.

Help anyone? First post, so be gentle........

Just curious, how do you test the ABS in the desert? You need a slick road to see if the ABS is working. Get the X scanned and tell us the trouble codes that comes up.

Hi Upallnight. We do have some roads in Abu Dhabi! Brake testing is the same as anywhere else - get up to around 50kph then jam 'em on - if they lock, ABS not working! (Is somebody about to tell me that's how they should work? ).

I managed to get the picture of my ABS connector uploaded; can anyone tell me the pinout?

I'll have the X scanned, but the garages here are <ahem> occasionally less than 100% reliable.

If all the wheels are locked at the same time, the ABS will NOT kick in. The ABS only kicks in when it sense through the wheel sensor at each wheel that one or more wheels are about to be locked and the other wheels are still rotating but at a different different speed.

Terminator X is the person to ask for pinouts on the connector.

Yeah, appreciate the comment about all wheels locking, but I can lock only one side front if I want to - ABS definitely not functioning.
