Have I killed my MAF sensor

I have a 2005 4.8is with Dinan software and while trying to find an oil leak I carefully washed down the 2 cylinders by the oil filler cap, I did not want to wash the whole engine for obvious reasons, so it seems water got into the MAF sensor plug and when I started the engine it started running rich, idle speed decreased and so checked plugs on those cylinders which were firing but rich.Plugged it in to GT1 which showed no codes, went to engine management to try to reset mixture adaptions but came up with ECU error action not supported I guess this has to do with Dinan software. Would this kill the MAF as I seem to remember they always default to rich. Car drives OK but is down on power fuel consumption has gone through the roof, according to on board computer. No misfires. Any other thoughts ?
