Confused about the noise from the valve cover.

And you want to make the roof rack quieter? If you don't have a sunroof, seems like you shouldn't hear the roof rack at all. Taping off any gaps in the rack will help...There's alot of aerostyle cross bars, as well as lower profile cross bars that also reduce noise.

from the pictures of your car, you got shadowline trim... it used to be on sport package only, along with the clear blinkers... maybe not a case in the 2005? or, maybe somebody replaced the chrome trim with shadowline? or, my eyes are growing old on me...

One more question, the prices you listed for your claim regarding the sport package is $2500. That was the original option price for the vehicle new. Seems like your claim should be based on net present value, which you could calculate using the ratio of the price you paid to the original price of your X5, then multiplying that by the $2500 option price, ballparking it around $800.

The trailer hitch pricing is good, but I think you should have gone for some type of reimbursement on the crash history for diminished value of the vehicle. This would likely be much more than the sport package.

his trim is matte not glossy, and the vin decoder shows the clear blinkers as a checked option (S785A white indicators)

Your speedo will be way off with those bigger tires (larger rolling diameter)

The 275/40's are in the $1k+ range for something decent.

From the outside it appears to have the sport package.

Shadowline trim is usually a good indicator.

What is it that is making you think it doesn't have the sport package?
