It was always covered by hidden warranty. All you have to do is call BMW customer care (and then have the dealer diagnose it as micro cracks in the mat), 100% covered.

Don't start at the dealership level with this kind of stuff because frequently they don't know what they're talking about (or doing).

Just got a recall notice on my 2006 for the passenger seat sensor.
They will replace free of charge. I would check to see if yours in in that recall..

That's the first thing I checked.
Found some old maintenance records from the last owner. Turns out my sensor was replaced under recall already and it broke a second time.

Got it replaced at a local shop for half of what the dealer would have charged.

I received the recall letter also last week.

Permanently enable passenger airbag

Is there a way using NCS expert to permanently enable the passenger airbag, regardless of whether the seat is occupied?

I've already disabled the seat belt warning and chime using NCS expert, just wondering if anyone knows, as I think this would be the best fix.
