Battery Died Now Alarm Doesn't Work

First off, this forum rocks!

I have a 2005 X5 4.8iS. The battery, which was replaced 18 months ago, just died for no apparent reasoon. Charged it back up and now all is well except the alaram/door locks doesn't work. Everything was working fine before the battery incident. Is there something I need to reset? Any ideas?

Thanks for all the great info!!

check the fuses for the alarm - i don't have the legend handy but you should be able to find it either on this forum or on the WDS diagrams, if you know how to read them...

main question however - why did the battery die in the first place... once a battery was completely discharged, it may not hold the charge unless reconditioned... check to see if you can test the battery for dead cells, and if the seller needs to replace the battery under warranty...

ohh... welcome to the forum!!!

i don't think i noticed any pictures of your ride - you got any????

Thanks for the reply. Not sure why the battery died, till invertigating that. It's been about a week and everything is fine. Starts without issue. Checked the fuses in the glove box and the right rear quarter panel compartment. All fuses good.
