i got mine off ebay - look for Gloria 1kg, it fits BMWs and MBs... not sure about the other euro makes, probably fits them too...

russia required the first aid kit and the extinguisher - i had to have them, to get the car registered in the country, not because they could fine me... i had diplomatic status, the cops cold not even make me blow in breathalyzer, even if i was totally wasted!!! they could not look inside my car, touch my passengers, even if they were russian citizens... but... they had plenty of bugs in it... lol...

i don't think US dealer can get that extinguisher, has to do with HAZMAT shipments across the pond...

That had to be pretty scary, especially for the kidlings! Glad everyone got out ok. I've never had that happen before, but I always carry a fire extinguisher in my vehicles, just in case. If nothing else, it activates Murphy's Law and acts as a preventative measure.

That's a rather expensive way to have a campfire!!

On a more serious note; Glad nobody was seriously hurt...at the end of the day it IS just a vehicle....and those can always be replaced!

Any more insight as to what may have caused the blaze?? X5's self destructing is definitely NOT something we see everyday.
