Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Du-Pont multipurpose spray with Teflon should work just as well too

100% silcone spray...and while you're winterizing...might as well hit the door lock cylinders and all hinges.

These are the 2 products I use for winterizing that helps prevent door lock cylinders from freezing and door gaskets from freezing:

  • silcone - (spray on a rag...not a paper towel) and lubricate all gaskets...remember around the hood and tail gate/lift gate
  • Tri-Flow - all hinges, door lock cylinders, hood latches & locks (Tri-Flow has TEFLON which helps prevent binding where to surfaces rub against each other)

I don't have to deal with temperatures that cold (unless for some rare climatic event)...so I've never worried about temps that cold for the products I use (pictured above).

I googled "tri-flow freezes at what temp" & "silicon freezes at what temp"...and you can see below what I found...I would suggest checking the internet for any brand that you may have or see in your area:
Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant provides twice the lubricating power of most competitive brands. Its light viscosity allows for deep penetration into hard to reach moving parts. -Ideal for all conditions - wet, dry, road and trail -High grade petroleum oils provide optimum lubrication under extreme temperatures (-60 to 475F) and humidity

A clean, light-duty product, DuPont™ Teflon® Silicone Lubricant is excellent for non-metal materials that may be damaged by conventional lubricants. It helps prevent sticking, binding and freezing.
  • Helps clean; odorless
  • Waterproofs, protects, lubricates and preserves
  • For use on rubber, plastic, vinyl, leather, metal and wood
  • Eliminates squeaking and binding in windows, hinges, locks, etc.
  • Helps prevent rust, oxidation and corrosion on all metals
  • Protects fishing gear, tools and farm equipment from salt, chlorine and corrosives
  • Helps prevent snow sticking and muddy buildups on shovels, snowblowers, wheel wells, etc.
  • NSF H-2 Listed
  • Can withstand temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) up to 400°F (204°C).

You must be from North Dakota or Manitoba!!

Lightly lubing the door seals will keep them soft and also from sticking/freezing. As for the internal door parts, I'm not a fan of spraying stuff in there as most lubes/coatings attract dirt/dust over time. IMO, a hair dryer and a couple minutes of your time is the best way to keep the locks & handles from freezing. I've Been doin it since the first winter with the X, and 7/8 years later have yet to freeze myself out!

We're no stranger to temps below -30*C here in Winnipeg...we know COLD!! Lol.
