Not true at all.

I had a different car in the past as well. Bought from PO and the tires on there had about 80% tread forgot what they were, car was awd too. And in the rain it was horrible. Take a normal intersection turn slighty faster then just going like a grandma through it, BOOM the front or rear starts sliding a little till stability catches.

Those tires went off in about a month and put hankooks on no issues ever again. Handle great in dry/wet/snow.

well I've used cheap tires in a pinch and never had any problems
