2003 4.4i question

Anybody know if the 2003 E53 4.4i has the 5.7 ABS module ? I'm getting intermittent trifecta of lights. Since the car is 10 years old just might as well do a rebuild and change all of the sensors.

Bosch 5 7 ABS Module Repair Service | eBay

Will this repair work for my car ?

I asked the ebay seller from this link and he said " I can't tell what type of ABS unit might be in your vehicle, but I can tell you that if your ABS module looks just like the one pictured in this listing, you can buy this repair service and send your module in. We fix all the 5.7 ABS units like this one for this price in eBay. " I can't see in my engine bay with out removing the module.

The links was from another thread, didn't want to hijack the old thread.

Thanks

That is BBA reman and I am in the process of sending them my module as I get intermittent trifecta as well. The auction link will work for your X.

They are very highly recommended rebuilders for the E53 and YES, on your 2003 you have the bosch 5.7 module!

90 bucks you can't beat it with both ways shipping!

And just FYI, get the module rebuilt first, then see if you still get intermittent errors, before replacing the wheel sensors. Most of the time its just the module throwing errors, so u don't need to change wheel sensors unless you are still getting trifecta, in which case the specific sensor that is bad will throw a specific error (so you don't have to change all 4)

Basically if u get the module rebuilt, you take the module throwing false wheel sensor errors out of the equation.

Thanks, I wonder what the turn around time will be. I don't plan on driving my X for a while anyway, hopefully not longer than a week, because I just sent the midi and instrument panel for pixel repairs. Before I took out the cluster the ABS trifecta of lights appeared. I'm waiting for my Romanian package to arrive so I can pull the codes. But if figure for $90 I figure what the heck and since the car won't be driven anyways.

In case anyone is interested, there is a great deal on pixel repair on ebay. Cluster & Midi combo for $240.

and they will install satin silver gauge rings for free !!! I'll let you know how it turns out when I get my cluster and midi back.

I think I'm the one who referred you to George's (bavarianaudio) service for the cluster/MID repaired, he did my cluster earlier this year with the silver rings for $130 I believe. Great value.

BBA Reman says the turnaround on the module is 1-3 days after they receive it, and I think they are located in MA so it should probably be a week or so of downtime? I am just waiting for a parts order to arrive so I have a box to ship the module in, I'll be sending mine next week to them, and you're right, for 90 bucks, it worth a shot!
