E53 phone help

I have a 2005 4.8is with navigation. I have the blue tooth transmitter in my trunk. But I don't have the telephone option on the nav. I don't have the blue tooth button in the center consol. When I push the BMW assist or any of the buttons nothing happens. Any ideas on how to figure out if I have the phone option? Also, could a previous owner screwed something up? Any help I would appreciate.

Get to the left compartment in the rear and find out if you have the module first.
Silver rectangular box as in the picture.

I didn't know they ever made a twin turbo convertible. I had a 91 TT with only 27k. It was my pride and joy. I wrecked it.

EDIT: Yes, there is still an ongoing thread about Bluetooth that has already answered a lot of questions on how to get it up and running. I even posted a link to a downloadable Bluetooth/Phone owners manual that can help walk you through the process.

Go back to the E53 forums' home page and scroll down the 1st page for a thread titled "2005 BLUETEETH" (or something like that)

If you have the BT box, then you need to retrieve the Pass Key code (PK code). The PK code was also on a card in the owners binder...check if you have a BT/Phone booklet.

If you have a smart phone, and the PK code, you should be able to pair your X5 & BT phone. You will need to use the "face-talk" button on your MLF steering wheel once the phone & your X are paired.

There are voice commands you can use to make calls etc once you've got everything paired.

There should be another thread going on about BT pairing (unless I'm confusing this forum with another X5 forum)...I could have sworn it was going on like sometimes since last Friday & Saturday.

Nissan commissioned R.Straman Company in California to make 44 TT and 25 NA, in 90 and 91. The demand for a vert went up high, so Nissan then based their vert design on those. I'm lucky to own one of the rare gem.
More info on my Straman verTT can be found here http://www.xoutpost.com/off-topic/lo...cting-toy.html

I have read all these threads and the how 2 pair the blue tooth. I have the module but when I hold said buttons with the key in the correct position I get nothing. Also I don't have the telephone on the navigation. On the navigation screen where the GPS, settings etc are located I do not have the usually telephone option.

if your nav screen does not show telephone, either your module is a TCU, just a telematics that ran out of subscription, or the BT unit is not communicating on the ibus - once powered, it should tell the ibus that it is present, by transmitting the module ID (priority level ID)... assuming that you have a BT, you should start checking the fuses to see if the module is powered up... then, check the cables, to see if any of the wires is cut, shorted, chaffed, especially the power and the ibus wires...

start small, check the fuses...
