What kind of software update for the tranny is out there? I have the GT1 with INPA, progman, EDIABAS, etc
Is it in there?

Thanks
You could have Dinan Transmission software installed. It changes the shift points which improves acceleration, gives total control in manual mode. speeds up shifting and makes them firmer.

I don't know if it improves longevity. I do know I have 110,000 miles on a 4.6 with Dinan upgrades and 150 shot of nitrous and have done nothing to the transmission except change fluid and filter every 50,000 miles. I don't think it will fix your problem but if a fluid and filter change does it may be something to consider.

Same here.

Rolling stop, hard-clunk on acceleration. 2005 4.4 with 100000 miles.

Did the ATF exchange and new filter, no flush, about 3 weeks ago. No more clunking. My indie charged me $350.
