Window regulator drivers side

the pricing for replacement of a window regulator runs from the mid $20's to $190 or so. I realize you get what you pay for but any real difference? The week point in these regulators is the metal bracket the window sets in and the plastic tab. The OEM is obviously not of good quality based on the frequency or repair. Any recommendation as to who to purchase from?

Bob

rockauto. i bought Dorman brand because it said:
  • Re-engineered to improve the original design
  • Thicker plastic sheathing for greater durability
  • Steel capped ends to resist pull through
  • Plug & Play -- No wire splicing necessary
  • Improved track curve and mounting profiles for smooth window operation and an exacting fit
  • Stronger plastic compound for greater durability
$90 for the front. $75 for the rear.

felt easily as good a quality as Genuine. rockauto is great for certain things. spark plugs and O2 sensors among others.

Thanks Russianblue, I forgot about them as I have order other parts from that vendor. Will give it a try. Still hard to believe BMW used such inferior parts for a key component.
