Well that headache is finally fixed. The X was at the dealer for a week. I refused to take it back once they figured out the problem with the battery. Had the battery replaced back in Oct 2012. Come this winter, X starts acting funny. Trans fail safe, SLS inact, Xenon's don't work, Radio acts all weird, rear tail gate wont go down, Adaptive Xenon inact... a whole slew a problems. Every time I check the voltage, the battery output is 13.6 14.2, shut it off, the battery is 8v, one time it was 3.2v. Ripped the battery out and took it in, they tested it and said it just needed a charge. I questioned it and said, "Ok, but the Alternator should be charging that thing when I drive. Every single morning on start up, its hard to start." Well the system is complicated, it doesn't charge all the time, blah blah blah... Put the battery back in, 2 days it was ok then the 3rd day... same thing. Check the voltage and the battery is dead. So then I thought I was having a parasitic draw problem. Start checking it and I don't. So back to the dealer I go. Check it again, battery is dead. Charge it and give it back. This time the battery only lasted a day. Finally just went back with the car, talked to the SA and said "There is something wrong with the battery. You call me when it is fixed. If you find its the alternator, just call me, let me know and I will pay for the diagnostic, otherwise, I don't expect to see a bill." They give me a loaner and I am on my way.
After playing the waiting game, they finally called this morning and said the X is ready... Everything checked out fine. "You were right, the battery had 2 bad cells in it. Don't know why it didn't show up on our previous tests." So I ask how much do I owe you and music to my ears, "Oh nothing. We should have caught that the first time." Hiyooooo. Now she starts right up! Loving it.
