intermittent Angel Eyes bulb warning

I got an error message on my dash about a month ago to check side lights… sure enough AEs on one side (passenger) were not working… so i started sourcing out aftermarket bulb replacements, bought INPA with the cable, to turn off cold monitoring, two days after my cable arrives - the error message is gone and the lights work perfectly fine…
Anybody encountered intermittent issues with AE's? Could be due to corrosion? It seems like intermittent issues with light bulbs are normally related with contacts being corroded but i could not find any threads on AEs failing due to that reason…

Are you using the standard AE bulbs?

It may be something to do with the age of the bulbs that are currently in there and what the LCM is seeing as far as power draw that is causing your issues. You can pop the covers off the light housings easily enough to check for corrosion but I HIGHLY doubt you would get any there.

In all honesty, I'd just code off cold monitoring and install some LED replacements...IF the error comes back I'd worry about it at that point.

This. For the tails I put in the led units and coded off cold monitoring 2 years ago. Haven't looked back and for 200 bucks really updates the rear of the X!

Everything is still as it was when I put them back together! I did run into a bit of an issue with 1 or 2 of the angel eyes not firing on the first try in extreme cold....but that was a hardware issue beyond my control. TRS has since updated the internals of them to make them more reliable (I have the new ones waiting to go in....just need to get around to doing it!).

Having had them in for nearly a year, I would make some slight tweaks but it's more of a personal preference thing than a performance issue....they still knock the pants off what I started with output-wise! Same goes for the angel eyes....although they could use a dimming circuit as they're a tad bright at night! lol
