I prefer the 'old,' left foglight. That's the pattern fogs are supposed to project. I'm quite happy with the stock fogs in my '06 [adaptive xenon headlight package]. To each his own, provided those H11s in the fogs are street-legal .......

wow.

talk about usability of the fog light out the window. Is that a ghost sphere lol?

Why not just put H11 Hoen Xenonmatch in the fogs if you are looking for a color difference that matches the headlights?

besides the fact that they are not performing in amanner a fog light should, the lumens output looks about 200lm. thats disgusting, as a hallogen puts about 1400lm out for an H11 bulb, if I recall correctly. So you can see from the pic the LED will offer NO visability on the road compared to the tried and true halogen bulb.
If you want to match the HID's. GET HID's.

I would stick with OEM osrams or go to Hella H11 bulbs for the fogs if and when the ones in mine die. rallylights.com, Susquehanna Motor Sports, is a great source for auto lighting, have a couple of Hella options for this application.

In order to correct the beam pattern, you will need to retro the pre facelift projector fog lights into your car. The projectors have a metal barrier inside that cuts off the top of the light beam so you don't blind oncoming drivers and the light is focused down where it needs to be.

Reflector vs projection 101 (for the uninitiated)

Reflector (2004-2006 fog lamps operate on this principle)

Projector
*Single and bi-xenon projectors operate on this principle...the only difference is that on the bi-xenon unit, the shield position is changed to obtain high beam. The shield remains stationary on a single beam projector*

Lights are a touchy subject for some (including me) as I personally can't stand people on the road that put crap like these bulbs in their vehicle thinking its an "upgrade"...only to annoy/dazzle oncomers. If you don't know, ask....or leave it alone. Please!

Thanks for the tutorial, X5SND, good stuff, and wise counsel to those experimenting with their head/fog lights .....

if you want Xenon looking, but still a functional halogen bulb, try these:

Hoen

My wife has the Endurance (French yellow) in her Rav4, I used to run the Xenonmatch H11 in my X before I converted to H3C HID kit and OEM Valeo projector housings in my fogs.

To be honest I didnt think it was that bad. Until I did a shot without headlights. The bulb I threw in there was an extra one my friend had just to try out looked good at first glance. I am going to go the route of projectors with hids. Any good sugestions for projector fogs?

Get oem Valeo projector fogs. 100 bucks apiece but the beam pattern is spot on.

And get morimoto h3c elite kit from the retrofit source for com. 4300k for best light output, there is a huge thread detailing it by tmv, with many posts from myself and X5SND as we both upgraded to projector fogs with hid's recently.
