Athracite headliner

I have the light gray interior w/ premium package and I think I would really like the Athracite headliner. Alot. I just have a question for those with the option; is the acccompanying trim the standard "Schwarz" black or dark gray to match the headliner material? I can't quite tell from some of the photographs I'm finding online.

I've redone headliners in the past (with great success) and this might be a potential Springtime project. Maybe. My windowshield arm panels are bubbling so they'd need to be redone regardless. I'll likely color the trim pieces with SEM vinyl dye and would like to be generally close to the OEM look.

Thanks in advance

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Yes the plastic trim pieces are Schwarz/anthracite as well. You could plasti-dip those pieces to match the headliner if you spray yourself. Or keep an eye out for junkyards parting out X's with sports package.

Thanks for the suggestions, Ricky Bobby.

I've come across a few Schwarz trim pieces on eBay and I may just snag them here and there, depending on their price(s).

I recovered mine in a black suede material, but kept the tan pieces for a 2tone look. It may not work so well with grey though. I made a how-to thread of the process complete with pics. (I'm too lazy to dig it up...a simple search will bring it up though!)

Apparently I have to fix some links to the pictures! I'll get on that later today...

The "Alcantara" material looks interesting and I found some that is offered in a very dark gray Althracite-like color:

Couple things to keep in mind when choosing a material (if you don't already know). First, the material needs to have some sort of UV treatment/stabilization. Second, make sure it has at least 1/8" foam backing, and lastly, if you plan to lay the material yourself...a fair amount of stretch!

RE: X5SND I did ponder the fact the material didn't have a foam backing. And I doubt it has much strechiness. But from the pictures it looks great as a headliner. I was able to find an online source for some "OEM" material:

Pretty pricy tbough
