The way I looked at it: $60 for the seals plus all the literature they have up on their site is worth it....the VANOS isn't really a job I'd fancy flying blind on!

+1 on that. I'd rather spend the 60 bucks and an extra 2 hours making sure I won't have to open up the valve cover again for another 60k miles or more.
