Fault Code: 4f85 ratio monitoring clutch e
I tired doing a search on here but I found nothing. Have any of you come across this fault code? The other day I was trying to accelerate onto the freeway and the shift from 3rd to 4th kept slipping and then the computer sent me into failsafe mode. I was able to clear it to get home as I couldn't keep going in 3rd gear on the freeway. I have been having some slipping when the transmission is warm and under moderate acceleration. I would feel the transmission starting to slip and I let off on the gas and then it would slam into gear. My X only has 62K on it. I am thinking about getting a fluid change done to see if that helps but I have a feeling I may need a rebuild instead.
Additional symptoms: 2-3 second delay when reverse is selected. The car will actually roll like it is in neutral. Probably is. Under light throttle to maintain a speed of 30 - 35mph, get some bumping/bucking like it is was gear hunting. It will happen every 5 seconds in rhythm. Give it some gas and start accelerating, it goes away. Does not go into 1st when stopping at a 4way intersection. I come to a complete stop for about a split second but when I accelerate, I am fairly certain I am in 2nd. This seems new as it would feel like I am in 1st the times before. The slipping does not seem to happen when I am in "manual" mode. Happens in the Sport or Normal. One thing that I do not like about this gearbox is when the transmission in normal "Drive" seems to want to race through the gears even though I am no where near finished accelerating. This racing through the gears ends up in the engine laboring/lugging. I used to drive a manual so I do not understand why whoever programed the computer would want it behaving this way. I had my mechanic reset the transmission tonight so I will see if the racing through the gears slows down a little while it learns. Thanks for any input.
