Unhappy SES Light - Silly Owner (Me)

So, today I decided to change the Lower Timing Chain tensioner on the X. What a Royal PITA it is to get to it. Talk about tight spaces.

Anyway... I was able to somehow get it done. I started the car, but forgot to plug in the MAF. I was about to drive off - all the while wondering why the car's idle sounded weird - then the SES light came on. Right around the same time I said, "Crap! I forgot to plug in the MAF!"

I am assuming that is what triggered the SES light. If so, will it eventually go off by itself or do I need to go in and scan it first?
