What do you think of these fender flares?

What are your thoughts on these?

What other alternatives are there for fender flares?

Thanks

There are two or three different flared fender kits for the E53, depending on your car's options. I've researched this and have the reference numbers elsewhere. From memory, you can't use the extensions with front or rear mud flaps. There are specifics (yes or no) depending on the rocker panel extensions / step you do or don't have.

Retrofit up front is easy, no cutting or modifying. The rear ones (depending on versions) will require some slots cut in your rear bumper panel - the BMW retrofit instructions will give you patterns to follow.

I noticed the flares in the link have sold.

I have a 4.6. Those pieces do not attach to the rear bumper. If you look closely at the back of the X in that picture you can see the butt to the black plastic below the bumper.

The front tie into the rocker panes and do 3/4 of the way around the wheel well the flare is completed by the front plastic piece below the bumper.

I suggest you look at aftermarket offering that are built for an X5 that is not a 4.6 or 4.8 to get proper fit.
