Question HELP: Trailer Hitch

Hello!

Does anyone know where we can order a trailer hitch for our new to us 2005 X5 4.8is? BMW and ECS have both been on backorder for a year. Is anyone selling theres or know of an aftermarket unit we could go with? We are only going to tow ~2000lbs so nothing super heavy but that's one of the main purposes of buying this rig.

Thanks for any suggestions in advance!
Kyle

These threads should help you:

When I was looking for mine, I found that ECS was out of stock as well and when my local dealer searched, I was told no one in North America had any and that Dingolfing was out of stock too.

I found one on ebay for $600 from Bloomfield BMW, NJ. They had 7 in stock. I started calling around BMW dealers and found one 6 miles from me.

Call around your local dealer and you might get lucky. Or you can try Bloomfield or Sonnen BMW in San Rafael, CA (I know they have 3 left and will ship).

Based on what I found out, I would strongly recommend that you stick with an OEM tow hitch no matter what you intend to tow. Also, considering the cost of options - OEM is really the way to go.
