Question High idle on start up....solved by restart

Well like the title says, after start up there are high rpm's....around 1200. Which I wouldn't be to worried about if it was after a complete cold start but this is after 20 mins or so. I noticed it after I had taken off from my house, the rpm's were idling high and it was shifting a little weird. After powering down and restarting on the road the idle went right back to normal of around 600 and shifting normally.

After stopping to grocery shop I restarted it and again the rpm's were around 12-1300 shut it down and restarted immediately and they fell back to normal.

I tried a few different searches and didn't come up with much comparable....anybody have an idea of what this could be associated with?

ther is a setting in the NCS expert that says something to the effect "run at higher RPM when heavy clients are present"... this makes me think, that maybe the DME thinks that there are some "heavy" clients present, and as a result, the RPMs are double of normal...

on the other hand, i would start checking the air supply chain - from the filter, to the MAF to the throttle body flap and the hoses in-between, to see if there are any issues...

If the air supply is cleared of the suspicion, i would look into reading the live data from the engine, using an INPA or something, to see if any of the cylinders operate outside of normal parameters... If you are lucky, you might be able to pick up a code that is stored in the system...
