4.8iS is a sweet looking X5.

Only reason to go to the E70 is the diesel in my opinion (in the USA, anyway).

fighting a losing battle, been in the E53 Forum lol

another option if you like the E53 is get an X3 M sport . same size , almost on looks and 3.5TT is pretty quick. with all the updated gadgets



few "ugly" E70's non M

As an earlier poster noted, the reason to get the E70 is the availability [in the US] of the diesel. I have an in law cousin in north Jersey who has one and loves it. If you want a gas V8, look for an 05-06 E53 with the six speed stick. I'm very pleased with my in line 6 3.0 with a stick, relatively low mileage, well within your price range. You'll just have to cast a wide net and maybe travel to buy it ......

WHY OH WHY idd they not make the V8's in a stick??? hte same motor in an e39 540 comes as a stick. OH I miss the standard feeling so much

They didn't make stick shift E53s with the V-8s??? That is a shame; the E39 540i's, w/stick, for example, are magnificent .....
