The number from the plaque is what I gave them and they said they needed the last 7 of the vin, which I didn't have at the time. I didn't say it made any sense, because honestly it doesn't, otherwise what is the plaque for?

Oh, oh, I don't know if I want to learn why they can't look it up by the plaque number.

Really. Having only produced a few dozen supercharged units, you would think they have the data onhand to tie plaque #s to VIN #s.

They actually told me before I gave them the plaque number that they probably wouldn't be able to look it up. I have no idea why they wouldn't record that, but apparently they only do it if the car is registered with them by the owner, whatever that means. I'll give him the vin and get to the bottom of it out of curiousity at this point.
